Plant equity program

I love working with small businesses. As a plant collector turned business owner I've seen how seriously legit the Instagram community of plant sellers and bloggers can get. But I believe there is opportunity to get better: to plan for scale, build brands, and tell beautiful stories.

And that all starts with a well-designed logo.

Knowing that not all small businesses and hobbyists have the budget for professional design, I'm offering my services to qualifying customers in exchange for my forever obsession: plants.
 

Qualifying customers

• Must have or plan on launching a plant-related business (eg. shop or web store, blog, Instagram feed or community: does not have to be for-profit or generate revenue)
• Must have or be able to purchase plants to share and safely ship
• If you have the budget to pay for design services, I recommend you do so as it you will get the best service and it builds the design community. This program's purpose is not to offer discounted design service, but to allow budding small businesses and thought leaders access to design resources. We can also discuss mixed cash-and-plant payments

Case studies/past plant projects

Levels of service: what to expect

The number of plants for payment will depend on where in the process I come in. Each project can vary in time and scope, but below are general ideas of what to expect.
 

Starter service ($180 value!)

Starting at ~6 plants

Scope example: You bring a sketch or rough design/example you want and I digitize it with slight enhancements or alterations such as professional font, composition recommendation, custom color, etc.
 

Mid-level service ($450 value!)

Starting at ~15 plants

Scope example: You bring a sketch or rough design/example you want but are open to seeing different concepts or you have an idea of specific design elements that you want (ie. font, color, symbols) but don't have a complete composition/design.
 

Full service ($700 value!)

Starting at ~20 plants

Scope example: You might have an idea of a look and feel or a concept that you like but are open to how the design comes to life. We'll chat through what you want to accomplish and go through the entire design process from market research, moodboards & sketches, multiple concepts and refinements.

Final cost varies depending largely on the rounds of revisions you require. For example, a "starter service" project can end up costing more if a customer makes minute tweaks over many, many rounds. A "full service" project can end up costing less if a customer finds an initial design to be exactly what he/she wants or relies primarily on the designer and his/her taste. Custom work such as hand illustrations and lettering also take more time. I will work within the time budget we set at the beginning of the project and let you know if we are approaching that limit.
